The Gingerbites Haitian Bistro menu is a celebration of authentic Haitian flavors, with each dish offering a distinct taste of the island's diverse culinary traditions. One of the standout dishes is the Griot, a Haitian classic made with tender, marinated pork that is deep-fried to perfection. The rich, savory flavor of the pork combined with the zesty sauce is a true highlight of the menu. It’s served with traditional sides like fried plantains, rice, and beans, which complement the dish beautifully.

If you’re in the mood for seafood, the Accra (fried fritters made with salted cod) is a must-try appetizer. The golden-brown fritters are crispy on the outside while remaining soft and flavorful on the inside. For something a bit heartier, the Joumou soup, a Haitian pumpkin soup typically served on New Year's Day, is available year-round at Gingerbites. This dish, made with squash, beef, and vegetables, is both comforting and rich in flavor, offering a satisfying meal on any occasion.

The bistro also offers a variety of vegetarian-friendly options, including rice and beans, plantains, and vegetables sautéed in flavorful seasonings. Each dish is prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, ensuring every bite is bursting with flavor.

In addition to the food, Gingerbites offers a variety of Haitian beverages to complement your meal. Try a refreshing glass of Haitian Rum Punch or a sweet, cold Haitian soda. Both are excellent choices to wash down the flavorful dishes and enhance your dining experience.

While the food is certainly the star of the show, the service at Gingerbites is worth noting as well. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure diners have a memorable experience. From offering menu recommendations to checking in regularly to ensure everything is to your liking, the service is attentive without being overbearing.

  • I really enjoy eating at Ginger Bite. This is authentic Haitian food—just like my grandmother used to make. As soon as you walk into the restaurant, you're greeted by the rich, inviting aroma of good Haitian cooking. I especially loved the red snapper the legume and the shrimp with black rice Djon Drojn—both were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. This is truly authentic Haitian cuisine. I can confidently say this is the **best Haitian food in New York**. **Marie Michelle** clearly knows what she’s doing—she cooks with heart, and you can taste the love in every bite. The food is flavorful, comforting, and made with care. I’m so excited to take her cooking class in October!!!!!!

  • A Truly Delightful Dining Experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The owner was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor — you can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The red snapper fish was a standout, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The ambiance was just right for a relaxed evening out, with pleasant background music. It's clear that this restaurant takes pride not only in its food but also in creating a memorable experience for its guests. We'll be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a welcoming setting!

  • I ordered a turkey entree for a coworker, and he was absolutely over the moon about the taste. He said he loves the way the food was packaged as well and will bring his family to dine here in the future. I haven't tried their food yet but I will very soon!

  • Yesterday I went to ginger bits with my family. I never had hatitian food before. I enjoy what I got. We all had different dish. We had the fish, chicken, oxtail, and goat. Everything was made to order and fresh. The owner was very sweet and nice. She explain what everything was. Me not a pork eater she told to stay away from the black rice I did. The drinks was good also. If am ever in the area again I would go back again. This place a must win. Love to support our people .

She is such a sweet, devoted lady — you can feel the love she pours into every dish. Her passion for cooking is truly an art, and it shows in every bite. The food? To die for. Perfectly seasoned, full of depth, and bursting with the rich, soulful flavors that make Haitian cuisine so special.
